I love it that you’ve taken the time to come up with not just 10 or 12, but 28 habits that are absolutely spot on, and the quotes you’ve chosen are deeply inspiring as well. The few biggies for me here are the first three (self-love, complaining, and blaming). Blaming often happens on auto-pilot, and it doesn’t just concern people, but also circumstances, or even the whole universe! It’s very important that we instill the belief that we have shaped our present with our past thoughts, actions, and emotions, and we have the power to shape our future with our present thoughts, actions, emotions, and beliefs.     I needed this post today, thank you. There is one issue that’s been upsetting my equilibrium and I don’t like the feelings that come with it. I had to do some soul searching yesterday to work out ways to cope with it, because it;s not normal that I feel like that. It’s related to a relationship with a family member that I can’t avoid.

    My wife shared this article with me from Facebook. I don’t think I have ever been truly happy about my life – I am 73 – and my wife is concerned. I am having some health issues that the medical community cannot pinpoint. After numerous tests, all positive, I am coming to the conclusion that my symtoms are in some way stress/anxiety related. My self-diagnosis is that I am a worrier, perfectionist, put too much emphasis on what others think of me and think that money is the answer. As a result I procrastinate, fear to take risks and don’t get excited about anything. All of this despite the fact that we have lived, what others would see as a very successful life.
    I have read so many motivational, self-help and spiritual books that I have lost count, My mind buys in to many of their philosophies and techniques, I totally belief that we alone are responsible for who we are and the results in our lifes. I have tried many of the techniques: positive thinking, yoga, meditation, reiki, goal setting et al but have not had any sustained success.
    The majority of your 28 habits apply to me and I thank you for sharing. My challenge is ” Where do I go from here”.

      Hi Mike, I hear you. One of the tools that I have found most helpful and I recommend to everyone is called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), also known as Tapping. It’s quite amazing and can be used to address so many things including anxiety, stress, fear, negative beliefs/thoughts. I have a full guide on how to use Tapping at this link, and would recommend you look at it and try it out as a way to address those blocks and challenges you’ve identified. Bernadette 🙂

I naturally seem to default to a negative outlook and this is not working for me anymore as I am not happy within myself. I desperately long to become a positive vibrant person.
