5 Daily Mantras to Support Your Life

“We must never forget that it is through our actions, words, and thoughts that we have a choice.” – Sogyal Rinpoche

Personal daily mantras. These are things that you can refocus your mind on instead of letting your mind indulge in overwhelm or confusion or doubt…

… or all the other places it wants to go.

Instead, you can bring it back to a mantra that you’re saying internally or that you’re writing every day.

Like you’re manually putting your mind back on track (the track that you want to be on).

And that’s exactly how I use them in my own life, both personally and professionally.

Mantras are a major part of my daily practice and help keep me focused and moving forward in the direction that I want each day.

And I wanted to share my top 5 mantras that I practice daily with you.

Why?

Because they’ve made such a huge impact on my life and I feel like they can help you too! Feel free to use any of these that resonate with you.

5 Daily Mantras to Support Your Life

1. I have a deep spiritual practice

This keeps me committed to doing yoga every day. When I’m thinking this and writing this all the time, it’s pretty much unavoidable that I get on my yoga mat because, if not, I feel like a huge fraud.

Of course, I’m not.

I’m just a human who is trying to figure out how to best live my life each day.

And sometimes I get super distracted or overwhelmed with all of my tasks for the day.

The baby needs my attention, which is important because I also want to give him my attention. My business needs my attention, which (again) is important because I want to give it the attention it needs to grow and be successful. The same goes for my husband, my friends, and basically everything in my life.

But sometimes I forget to give that same dedication to myself and my practice slips off to the side.

I hate that!

So I made this my number one mantra so that I can remember what’s important to me, to Brett, and to stay committed to it.

2. I practice self-compassion

I love this one. I came up with this one when my father was really ill and I just was so hard on myself. I felt like I wasn’t being a good enough daughter to him or a good enough mother to my son and that I wasn’t doing well enough at work.

I could really easily beat myself up over it and put myself into a dark headspace, so I just kept pulling myself back to this mantra. I kept reminding myself that I was dealing with a very difficult situation and that I needed to practice self-compassion.

I just kept saying that over and over and over again. Every time I felt stressed or uncomfortable, I practiced this mantra.

I’m sure you know that we can’t give from an Empty Cup, right? So practicing self-compassion is super important.

This mantra helped me get through my father’s illness and especially when he passed. It was so hard. And all that sadness and grieving sometimes got in the way of me doing all of the other important things in my daily life.

But that’s okay. I was (and still am) grieving. It’s hard. It’s messy. It takes time.

And that’s okay.

This mantra helps me remember those things and remember not to beat myself up for having this human experience. It will get better and I will heal, but in the meantime, I must remember to practice self-compassion.

3. I love my family exactly as they are

I love this mantra because it really gets you shifting out of trying to change people or wishing that things were a different way. The reality is we can’t divorce or change our family. We can change our friend group, but we really can’t change our family.

The same goes for basically anyone in your life…

…you can’t change them!

But why would you? People are the way they are and they deserve love even then. You and me included!

I set such high standards for myself and I tend to hold everyone up to these exact standards as well. But that is such an awful thing to do because my standards are perfectly built for me, my life, my experiences, and my perspective.

Nobody else fits into that.

So I try to remind myself to love people, my family, exactly as they are.

4. There’s always more money

There’s always more money out there. There’s not a finite amount of money in the world. There’s always new wealth being created.

In fact, that’s what entrepreneurship is all about. There are always jobs and opportunities to make money.

Think about it.

Think back to a time when you were broke. Like, I-can’t-even-afford-ramen-broke. You still managed to get by, right? You still managed to earn some money, at least eventually. And you will continue to do so.

If you start with the baseline understanding that you will always have the opportunity to earn money (setting the ego aside), then you can begin to think in terms of abundance. That there’s even more money to be earned.

Once I started thinking in this way, it took me out of a fear-based mentality and put me on track to explode my business.

And I truly believe that you can do the same.

5. I love life and life loves me

This is just super positive. I don’t know what else to say. This one, it just sets you up in the frame that this world is good, that this universe is good, that there’s an intelligence out there that’s supportive and that you love it and that it loves you.

When you stop going into the world like it’s out to get you, and you start looking at the world as a massive support network, things seriously begin to change.

You start seeing things super clearly.

Not only that, but you also begin to enjoy the world, as well.

This mantra is a major attitude-shifter and can dramatically change the way you experience your day-to-day life.

Daily Mantras – How to Practice Them

So in addition to saying all of these, I’m always writing. You can write it on napkins, write it on sticky notes, type it in your phone when you’re bored instead of going on social media.

I also really want to encourage you to create your own affirmation tape.

It doesn’t have to be fancy. Just record yourself speaking your top 10 mantras and then just loop it using iMovie or some simple editing software and listen to it all the time.

That’s one of the easiest ways to get your affirmation work in.

So please enjoy and use the ones I’ve provided, but don’t be afraid to make one that’s specific for you because that will be even more powerful. It will be exactly right for you and your life.
