Happiness is something we all hope to achieve in our lifetime.

It's such a simple concept, yet tens of millions of us have trouble understanding how to obtain it.

Often times, we actually create our own obstacles and prevent ourselves from achieving happiness altogether. Because of our brokenness, it's becomes even more critical to realize the ways we allow negativity and depression to sneak into our lives.

In my 28 yeas on this planet, I've learned happy people and unhappy people see the world through two completely different pairs of glasses. I've studied the things that happy people do to stay happy, and recently, I've studied the things unhappy people do to remain miserable. It leads me to think of this positive quote.

The Happiness of Your Life Depends on the Quality of Your Actions.

Interestingly, I've found it easier to stop doing the things unhappy people do, rather then trying to start do the things happy people do. Below, I have listed 3 things happy people NEVER do.

3 Things Happy People NEVER Do:

Happy People Are NEVER Ungrateful:

Gratitude does the body good. It helps you cope with depression and stress, increases self-worth and self-esteem when you realize how much you’ve accomplished, it's proven to dissolve negative emotions. Research also suggests that the character strength of gratitude is highly effective in fighting anxiety and chronic depression.

Happy People Are NEVER Alone:

Happy people stay connected to their families, neighbors, places of worship, and communities. These strong connections act as a buffer to depression and create strong, meaningful connections. The rate of depression has increased dramatically in the last 50-75 years. The World Health Organization predicts that by 2020, depression will be the second leading cause of mortality in the world, impacting nearly one-third of all adults. While several forces are likely behind this increase, one of the most important factors is thought to be the disconnection from people, their families and community.

Happy People Are NEVER Lazy:

Happy people take care of their mind and body and manage their stress. Focusing on your health, though, doesn’t just mean exercising. Happy people actually act like happy people. They work, they move, they smile, they're busy, and bring an optimal level of energy and enthusiasm to everything they do.

    Great article!!! I often wonder if unhappy people lack the ability to see how others view them, or if they just don’t care. I sincerely try to be someone who people want to be around–this can dramatically change my demeanor/actions. Keep up the good work, sir!

    I never measure happiness on that scale but now that i am aware, i think i have an issue. i tend not to take care of my body so much; i feel its a personal think. Now i realize it is a state of mind. Thank you very much. I’ll fine enough time for myself and improve for positive outlook. I really want to be HAPPY, so I’ll look happy.

    A lot of people need to change there demeanor because friends family siblings The one with the demeanor personality U don’t realize how they have one that I realize how they have used it Smile in your face then tell other stories to make u look bad & them look so innocent & can make them believe IT! There’s one thing GOD is ALL! wouldn’t want to be THEM
