How Creative Mindfulness Can Help You Overcome Anything

American journalist Bill Moyers once said…

“Creativity is piercing the mundane to find the marvelous.”

And, he was right.

We often think of creativity in the traditional sense, such as music, theatre and film – but creative ideas could just as easily help you to work at your job more efficiently or increase your health and happiness.

Creativity is the ability to think outside of the box to be able to come up with new ideas, products and solutions.

If you’ve never considered yourself to be a creative person, you may be surprised to find that you actually are.

In fact, your mind is continuously utilizing creativity in a variety of areas. The trick is to hone in one this creativity by practicing creative mindfulness.

What Is Creative Mindfulness?

Imagine if you could combine your creative juices with the powerful technique known as mindfulness.

You would hold in your hands a golden key to the door of success.

Since we’ve already covered what creativity is, let’s do a recap of mindfulness.

Mindfulness is often used as a therapeutic technique, and it’s simply a mental state achieved by focusing your awareness on the present moment, while calmly accepting and acknowledging your thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations.

So what exactly is creative mindfulness?

This is the ability to focus your mind on coming up with creative ideas and solutions.

For example, if you found yourself struggling with debts, you could turn to creative mindfulness to find a way out. This would involve spending some quiet time thinking deeply about possible answers to your problem – with the trick being to keep your mind focused on finding solutions.

Do this, and in a short period of time, you’ll be flooded with workable ideas on how to break free from your debts. These might include things like cutting your expenses, boosting your income – or both!

Creativity Can Be Learned

Despite what you might have been taught when you were young, creativity is not an innate talent or something that just a few people are born with.

Creativity is being able to see things in a fresh new way that others maybe can’t see. It helps create new solutions by viewing obstacles as opportunities.

So, if you encounter different challenges and problems that need solving on a regular basis, then creativity is an invaluable skill to have.

Creativity a skill that can be learned. And, a skill you probably already use in your everyday life.

For instance, think for a moment about your day-to-day work.

If you have an office job, then you’re likely to be “creating” emails, documents and presentations. You may not have thought about these things as being creative, but trust me, they’re just as creative as painting a picture or writing a song.

Whether for work or hobbies, creativity calls upon our right-brain. It’s this part of our brains that is intuitive and imaginative. However, for best results, you should use your left-brain, too. This will add a harmonizing dose of logic and analytical thought.

So, how do you go about boosting your creativity?

The answer is simple:

Practice!

Instead of shying away from opportunities to come up with new ideas and innovations, relish the chance to put your whole brain to work.

Not only will this regular practice bolster your confidence. It’ll also sharpen and develop your creativity.

Attitude Is Everything

To be successful in whatever you do, it is important to always remember that attitude is everything. A positive attitude often makes the difference between failure and success.

And of course, creative mindfulness relies on you being able to think optimistically and have the right attitude about something. Instead of being stuck in a problem, you’ll be able to flex your thinking patterns to find a new way to transcend your difficulty.

Maintaining a positive attitude in life can help you overcome your difficulties and boost your creativity by inspiring you to look at setbacks as opportunities for change, helping you believe in your own abilities, giving you the strength to not give up, and setting yourself up to expect success, not failure.

Break Free and Realize Your Dreams

When you effortlessly combine creativity and mindfulness, you’ll be able to conquer anything you set your mind on.

But, of course, to do this, you’ll have to go above and beyond your comfort zone and tackle things from a fresh angle.

For example, if you’d love to get a promotion at work, but you have a fear of public speaking, which is holding you back – use creative mindfulness to find a solution.

This might lead you to regularly speaking up in meetings to boost your confidence, or joining a public speaking tutorial organization such as Toastmasters International.

One thing is for sure:

If you do nothing to tackle your public speaking fears, then you’ll be held hostage by this damaging limitation. But, with the right mindset and attitude you’ll be able to smash through your fears and start quickly climbing the career ladder.

Remember, everyone is creative. It’s a skill that can be learned. It’s not an innate talent.

And, when you actively practice creative mindfulness, you’ll be shaping your perspective… like clay. And just like clay, you’ll be able to mold your perspective into any shape you want when you have a creative mind to call upon.

With new perspectives that you’ve never considered before, you’ll find radical ways to overcome your limitations and reach your goals.

Start practicing creative mindfulness today, and experience a new life unlike anything you’ve ever known before.
