Feeling your spiritual connection is so comforting and creates a sense of being supported and unstoppable in this world!
But, and it's a big BUT…
Most people find it challenging to keep that spiritual connection strong because life is so damn busy and demanding day-to-day!
It's like the world has been designed to distract us, to lure us into our egos and mind noise, and to BREAK that spiritual connection.
So, bottom line, from first-hand experience… if you want to keep your spiritual connection solid, reliable and “alive” in your daily life, you gotta do a few things to strengthen it.
Feeling connected to your soul and to your Higher Power (or the Universe, whichever term you use) doesn't happen by mistake. Most people who have that connection are enjoying it because they build it like a muscle. You don't get great abs or strong biceps unless you work-out regularly. And you're not going to get a strong sense of spiritual connection unless you consciously choose to foster it.
Luckily, it's not that hard to create, cultivate and sustain your faith/spirituality in daily life.
Here are my top 3 super simple tips for feeling soul-aligned and in touch with your Higher Power – the Source of life itself!
3 Tips to Keep a Strong Spiritual Connection in Daily Life
1. Use a mantra to remember you are a spark of divinity!
It's easy to get lost in the noise and busy-ness of daily life, and to forget that you're so much more than your life circumstances, your body, and your mind.
You are first and foremost spirit, here on a life journey.
We can use a mantra to remember this fact, and it helps us to keep our spiritual connection strong.
2. Use a morning ritual to help you remember your spiritual nature and build the connection
If you race into your day with
- your mind in a flurry with your “to do” list
- your body in a hurry to get where you need to go
- and your attention all focused on the external physical world around you…
… then you can easily end up feeling adrift and disconnected.
So before you greet the world each day, take at least 5 minutes for yourself in the morning to be still and consciously connect with your Higher Power (Divinity, the Universe, Creator, God, whatever term you call the Source of your life and life itself).
This ritual might be a meditation, prayer, affirmation, visualization, gratitude practice, a breathing ritual, a form of conscious movement (e.g yoga, Tai Chi) or any other form of spiritually oriented ritual which helps you to FEEL connected with your soul/spirit and your Higher Power.
3. See everything in your day as a spiritual assignment
For everything and everyone that crosses your path (be it blessings upon you, challenges to evolve you, or opportunities to help others) take the view that these are spiritual assignments which have been given to you by your Higher Power/the Universe.
When you look at your life this way, you will bring your spirit first to all interactions and situations. You will bring forth a deeper and calmer part of yourself, positively impacting yourself, other people and the situation.
It's not always easy, that's true! But the practice of viewing life and responding to life this way is transformational and will definitely help to keep your spiritual connection strong!
